Overview
Fairy Meadows is reached only by a famously narrow 12 km jeep track followed by a 3-hour uphill walk. The reward is one of the great mountain views of the world. We use the simple but characterful wooden cabins at Raikot Serai and add an optional day-trek to Nanga Parbat Base Camp at 3,967 m for those who want to walk on the moraine of the Rakhiot Glacier. Short, scenic, and easily combined with the Hunza Classic.

Itinerary
Day by day
Day 1
Arrival · Islamabad
Met at airport, overnight at Serena Islamabad.
Day 2
Drive to Chilas (10 hrs)
Long but spectacular drive up the Karakoram Highway through Besham and the Indus gorge. Overnight at Shangrila Midway House Chilas.
Day 3
Chilas to Fairy Meadows
1-hour drive to Raikot Bridge, transfer to local jeep for the 1.5-hour climb to Tatu village. 3-hour gentle uphill walk (porters carry main luggage) to Fairy Meadows at 3,300 m. Sunset on Nanga Parbat.
Day 4
Nanga Parbat Base Camp trek
Long day-trek through pine forest to Beyal Camp (3,500 m) and on to Nanga Parbat Base Camp (3,967 m). 6-7 hours return. The Rakhiot face of Nanga Parbat fills the sky.
Day 5
Free day at Fairy Meadows
Short walks, photography, rest. Optional ride to the upper meadows on horseback.
Day 6
Trek out · drive to Naran
Walk back to Tatu, jeep to Raikot Bridge, drive 5 hours over Babusar Pass (4,173 m) to Naran. Overnight at Pine Park Hotel.
Day 7
Drive Naran to Islamabad · departure
5-hour drive back to Islamabad through the Kaghan valley. Day-room and evening departure.
